The Tucson Symphony Orchestra offers music for all tastes and ages in
their 2009-2010 season. Their season is separated into four different series
including; Classic, TSO Pops!, MasterWorks, and Recital. They also have several concerts that are Just for Kids.
The Classic Series features Richard Strausss sublime Four Last Songs (October
29 & 30) in this exciting evening of music and poetry. Lizsts Les Prludes
inspired a new musical form the symphonic tone poem. Stephen Paulus work sets three poems of Dylan Thomas, selected by Dr. Helen S. Schaefer, to music for soprano and orchestra and features the TSO debut of Elizabeth Futral, one of today's most in demand
sopranos.
Veterans Day weekend kicks off The TSO Pops! Series (November 6, 7 & 8) with a tribute to Americas heroes of Southern Arizona. A proud program of patriotic music that honors our military and all those who prevail in extraordinarily challenging situations. Highlights will include The National Anthem, Fanfare for the Common Man, the Battle Hymn of the Republic and much more!
Just for Kids concerts are great for young audiences and families. Sam and the Crazy Daisy (November 7) is just one of the many great concerts for kids. The story of how a lazy day on the farm turns into a day of adventure as Sam the hound dog spots a flying flower! Sam chases across the farm in hopes of finding out just how that daisy became so crazy.Story and music by Michael Fan.
