On December 5, Conrad Wilde Gallery opened its new digs at 439 N. 6th Ave. #143, a move that takes place after four years on 4th Avenue.
Co-owner Miles Conrad said that the gallery is relocating to "the 6th & 6th building in order to be part of a consolidation of galleries that is taking place in that area in response to changes on Congress Street."
The new location at 6th & 6th is a destination that Zocalo writer Dolly Spalding describes as "an unlikely mecca for sophisticated connoisseurs in search of traditional elegance and the avant-garde, bold experiments and comfortable realism alike."
As such, Conrad Wilde Galley will make a fantastic addition to the strip of galleries.
Before they leave the Avenue, however, Conrad said, "for two weeks in December, we will have a moving sale at our 4th Avenue location where folks will be able to bid on inventory and fixtures in a silent auction fashion."
In January, the gallery's newest location hosts a grand opening celebration and artist's reception for Corporealities: Bodies in Question on Saturday, January 2 from 5pm-9pm.
Conrad Wilde also has a location in downtown's Presidio District, which opened in October. Miles said The Outpost at the Old Town Artisans, 201 N. Court Ave., was created to "diversify the work we represent by featuring rustic contemporary southwestern art and handicrafts in a historic Tucson setting.
"The Outpost's Grand Opening will take place in the early spring after the transition at our main location is complete."
