Chock full of history, this border mining town is a great destination for a quick getaway any time of the year. Besides its regular attractions charming shops and inns lining the main drags, quaint cabins perched on steep hillsides, the famous 1000 Stairs Bisbee has special events in store this month.
The 6th Annual Bisbee Yoga Expo takes place Feb. 12-15 and offers a rich variety of programs and courses that include music, dance and a full lineup of yoga and meditation sessions centered at the gorgeous Club Kilimanjahro, 33 Subway St.
Bisbee's crisp mountain climes provide a heady backdrop for the event, and the vibe at Kilimanjahro is perfect. The expo is the brainchild of Marcia Galleher, a 40-year yoga practitioner, registered teacher, and past president of the Arizona Yoga Association.
Tucson instructor Joanna Carichner, a past attendee and one of the instructors this year says, "The studios are lovely and inviting with lots of beautiful lighting and character."

From Tucson, it's a 40 mile drive east on I-10 toward Benson. Take exit 303 and shoot south on Highway 80; you'll continue southeast for about 48 miles. You'll travel through Tombstone and find yourself in the Mule Mountains. Taking in the scenery and contemplating the history is well worth the drive.
