Boots 'N' Spurs!

By ZT Staff
The Tucson Symphony Orchestra League will host Boots 'N' Spurs, a fundraiser feautring a barbecue, auctions, line dancing and live music, for the TSO on Saturday, March 20 at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort, 10000 N. Oracle Road in Tucson.

The evening begins at 5:00 pm with a margarita bar and the traditional chips and salsa in the Last Territory, a special event venue taking guests back to the Old West.

There will be great raffle prizes, silent auction items and a 50/50 drawing. In the silent auction, guests will have a chance to bid on such items as two hours for two people in a Lear Jet 60 Simulator, a $2,000 value; Ventana Golf for four (including cart and green fees), an $800 value; a two night stay at the Hilton El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort, a $500 value; a day for two at Canyon Ranch, a $500 value and a vase from the Tom Philabaum Glass Studio and Gallery, a $195 value.

The gourmet menu features barbecued spare ribs, chicken with prickly pear sauce, jalapeno au gratin potatoes, rice, grilled corn on the cob, ranch beans, corn bread and for dessert, tres leches cake, tiramisu and coffee.

The Bill Ganz Western Band will provide the entertainment, playing the Western heritage classics that have made them a Tucson favorite for almost 20 years. Attendees will get a preview of the Bill Ganz Western Band's performance with the TSO Pops! the following weekend, March 26, 27 and 28 at the Tucson Music Hall, where they will perform such hits as "Ghost Riders in the Sky," which were inspired right here in Tucson. Country Line Dancing instructors will also be on hand to teach the basics and create a festive atmosphere.

Tickets to Boots 'N' Spurs are $100 per person; $50 is tax deductible because the event is a fundraiser for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra League, which supports the Tucson Symphony Orchestra through fundraising programs and events. TSOL President Norma Ancona says it isn't necessary to dress up for Boots 'N' Spurs, "just jeans and boots and maybe a cowboy hat." For an invitation or reservation call Jo Clark (520) 885-2179.
