KXCI’s Five

July & August 2010

By KXCI staff
Arcade Fire

Tucson community radio station, 91.3 FM, will be spinning cuts from the following new albums this summer.

Arcade Fire:  The Suburbs (Merge) - Montreal’s indie darlings are back with more tunes about the times we live in.

Marc Cohn: Listening Booth: 1970 (Saguaro Road) - All covers from 1970, with tunes by Paul McCartney, Smokey Robinson, Simon & Garfunkel and many others.

Great Big Sea:  Safe Upon The Shore (self-released) - The Celtic folk-rockers combine upbeat tunes with tales of woe.

Sun Kill Moon: Admiral Fell Promises (Caldo Verde) - Mark Kozelek’s 4th album offers more of the haunting lyrics that have made his projects popular with KXCI programmers.

Cyndi Lauper:  Memphis Blues (Downtown) - Cyndi still wants to have fun on this collection of blues tunes, featuring B.B. King and Allen Toussaint.
