The winter holidays are about traditions – gift giving, Charlie Brown TV specials, eggnog and the decidedly local tradition of calling friends around the country to brag that it’s still 65 degrees here in Tucson.
The holidays are also about spending time with friends and family, and about great music. Your friends at KXCI 91.3FM Community Radio invite you to spend a little time with us, on-air, during our 9th annual Sonic Solstice celebration, one of Tucson’s newest holiday traditions.
On Monday, Dec 20, from 5pm to 9pm, the station plays host to a dozen area musicians performing holiday-themed tunes live in Studio 2A. You’ll enjoy heartfelt renditions of classic holiday tunes, as well as the broadcast premier of new songs. Between performances, we’ll chat with the musicians and bring back some of the musical highlights from previous Solstice celebrations.
The 9th annual Sonic Solstice celebration will be hosted by KXCI’s Laurie Starr and Dr. Dan, each decked out in the itchiest holiday sweaters they can find.
The lineup is still being set as of press time, so be sure to visit the On Air Blog at KXCI.org for up-to-date information on this year’s Sonic Solstice performers.
