Invisible Theatre’s Premiere
As a part of IT’s 40th anniversary, the theatre will present Premiere which is a comedy/mystery written by Tony-award winning writer Dale Wasserman. It tells the story of a comedic playwright who sets out to write a work that will pass as that of Shakespeare. Will the world be fooled? Johnny Clegg Band
UAPresents will host musician, singer, songwriter, dancer and activist Johnny Clegg on Friday, May 6 at Centennial Hall, 1020 E. University Blvd. Clegg, who was born in England, is considered a South African export due to his upbringing in South Africa and his championing of a unique blend of Zulu music and Western pop. He has created a new international style that he combines with his historical and anthropological observations. Clegg is truly an ambassador to the world using music and information to inform and entertain. 621-3341, UAPresents.org

New Earthly Delights at Etherton Gallery
Etherton Gallery, 135 S. 6th Ave., is presenting a show of work by a trio of artists; collaborative work by mixed media artist Mayme Kratz and photographer Tim Lanterman, glass artist Flo Perkins and painter Gail Marcus-Orlen. The show, up through May 28, brings New Mexico glass artist Perkins to Tucson as part of last month’s Tucson Glass Festival, and also showcases Colorado photographer Lanterman with Phoenix artist Kratz along with Tucson resident and frequent Etherton artist Marcus-Orlen, for the final show of the 2010-2011 season. East Marries West
On Saturday, May 7, the Berger Performing Arts Center, 1200 W. Speedway Blvd., features New Delhi musical couple Shubhendra Rao and Saskia Rao performing their syncretic blend of Western and Indian music. The India Society of Southern Arizona (ISSA) hosts the performance with Shubhendra playing the sitar, a quintessential Indian instrument, and Saskia playing a rare five-stringed cello.
