Yelp Turns It Up To 11!

The introduction of cassette carriers and compact disc hip-haulers, followed by the more recent advent of the iPod, made it easy for aficionados of arpeggios to tune in to head banging beats on the go. However, ear buds don't strike a chord with everyone and luckily for those lovers of live, Tucson is teeming with several stages for reeling in the rhythm of the night. Whether you're seeking something fast paced and fist pumpin' or slow, steady and soul filled, Yelp is your all access pass to noteworthy venues singing your tune.

Reviewers rave about the best beats in the OP. Visit the websites for information on upcoming concerts, dates, times and check one, check two - check one, two, three!

CLUB CONGRESS
311 E. Congress St. 622-8848, HotelCongress.com/club

"I saw Japanese post-rock band Mono perform here while buzzing from the best Stoli Around the World I've ever had. Just being in the historic Hotel Congress is an experience. Dimly lit and kinda creepy - it's got so much atmosphere that it's hard not to be excited for a show here." - Andrew B.

FOX TUCSON THEATRE
17 W. Congress St. 624-1515, FoxTucsonTheatre.org

"What a great venue for live performances! Every seat has a good view and the acoustics are far superior to other performance venues in Tucson. The first few rows of the balcony are loveseats that cost only slightly more to purchase than two regular seats."- Jody M.

PLUSH
340 E. 6th St. 798-1298, PlushTucson.com

"This is a cool little venue that offers a wide variety of great bands. From international stars to local start-ups, Plush is the place to check out great acts in a comfortable setting." - Joshua B.

THE RIALTO THEATRE
318 E. Congress St. 740-1000, RialtoTheatre.com

"Probably the best venue in Tucson for well known, national touring bands. The floor is built at an angle, so even if you're in the back you won't have to stand on your tip-toes. The atmosphere is really great during a show and even afterwards downtown is usually on fire!" - Andrew S.

SOLAR CULTURE
31 E. Toole Ave. 884-0874, SolarCulture.org

"The sound in this venue is pretty dang impressive, especially since it's an art gallery. I've been to shows at venues specifically established for concerts that pale in comparison. Next time one of my favorite musicians travels to this special place, I will definitely make it out." - Alexis Q.

SURLY WENCH PUB
424 N. 4th Ave.
882-0009, SurlyWenchPub.com

"The crowd of mohawked, spiked, inked and plugged Wench patrons smoking defiantly on the street can be off-putting, but persevere. The music here is worth it. I've seen the Ting-Tings, the guitarist from White Stripes, and a wealth of uber punk, metal and industrial bands worthy of a much higher cover charge." - Saba B.
