Is Arizona Going to be the Next Big Adult Industry Center?

In Section: Users Blogs » Posted By: matt323

The Los Angeles city council has passed a new requirement for adult film stars to have to use condoms during tapings while in LA in a 9 to 1 vote awaiting the mayors approval. This has created quite the backlash from producers in the area and they are threatening to leave according to the Associated Press.

“The only thing that the city could potentially achieve is losing some film permit money and driving some productions away, but you can’t actually compel an industry to create a product that the market doesn’t want,” Christian Mann, general manager of Evil Angel said.

The adult industry is a multi billion dollar a year industry and if the mayor signs on to the new requirement the industry has aready stated that they will move to other near by states that don't have such laws and one of the states they are looking at is Arizona.

The law is meant to address health issues such as sexually transmitted diseases and HIV which, although testing is routine, run through the industries actors.

The new ordinance would be funded by a permit fee to shoot the films and that money would be used to have suprise inspections at the various shooting locations.

If passed, Arizona might be getting an entirely new industry in the area and many people simply don't want that kind of thing going on in our state.

If passed in California will you let this industry come to Arizona? Or do you think that we should pass similar laws and ordinances to help deter them from coming here?
