"They're bringing Shelko back!" was the email we received today from a downtown observer. Attached to the email was an agenda for a Rio Nuevo Multipurpose Facilities District Board of Directors meeting. Sure enough, line item 5f says "Consider (and, if appropriate, Approve) Independent Contractor and Consulting Agreement with Newberry Advisory Services LLC (Gregory Shelko)."
Greg Shelko, the former Rio Nuevo boss, was let go by City Manager Mike Letcher on June 30. It now appears he may be returning to downtown in another capacity.
The meeting takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, September 15 at 10:00am at the Tucson Convention Center's Maricopa Room, 260 South Church Ave.
